Atelier Unlocking Formula 250ml

Take full advantage of Atelier Interactive’s unique properties with Unlocking Formula. This medium allows artists to reopen an uncured paint layer even after it is touch-dry.

Once the paint is reopened, new paint can be blended back in, existing paint edges can be feathered, or whole sections can be removed with a rag to reveal under-layers. Spray apply using the Atelier Fine Mist Water Sprayer.

Curing time is dependent on humidity, thickness of paint film, mediums used and the painting surface.

Spray apply for slow drying wet-in-wet techniques.

Clean up with mild soap and cool water.

Use only with Atelier Interactive Acrylics.

Atelier Universal Medium/Varnish

Atelier Universal Medium/Varnish

The Atelier Universal Medium/ Varnish is a medium and varnish rolled into one making it extremely versatile with the ability to create multiple effects and finishes.

As a medium, use to loosen paint for easier brush-ability and a more fluid consistency, reducing viscosity and making layers dry faster – perfect for layering or glazing.

As a varnish you can achieve a gloss finish or a satin finish depending on how you apply. First apply a seal coat with one part varnish and two parts water – this allows the varnish to penetrate and seal the paint layer so that a more concentrated varnish can be spread easily when the seal coat is dry. After the seal coat is dry, apply full strength with one or two coasts according to your taste for a gloss finish.  For a satin finish, apply two or three coats using the seat coat mixture of one part varnish to two parts water.

It is recommended to test out with your paints first to ensure the desired finish is achieved as Atelier Universal Medium & Varnish is non-removable.

Directions: First apply a coat to the painted surface to seal (equal parts water/varnish). Once this first level of varnish has penetrated and sealed the paint layer let it dry fully. A more concentrated varnish level can now be applied. By using direct from the bottle a gloss finish can be achieved. Alternatively thin down with water for a more satin like glazed finish. Non-toxic.

Features:

  • As a medium it creates a more fluid consistency and improves brush-ability
  • Perfect for glazing and layering and speeds drying time.
  • Easy to apply.
  • Varnishing gives good colour saturation.
  • Different levels of finish can be achieved by adding water from a low sheen to a high gloss.
  • As a water-based varnish it is comparable to a solvent varnish.
  • Varnish is non-removable.
  • Clean up with mild soap and cool water.
  • Water-based and Non-Toxic
  • Made in Australia

Atelier Liquefying Medium

Atelier Liquefying Medium

Atelier Liquefying Medium

Atelier Liquefying Medium is a water-based medium which increases the fluidity of acrylic paint. It is ideal for detailed fine line work and airbrushing techniques.

Atelier Liquefying Medium reduces the viscosity and increases the flow of paint which allows you to easily cover large areas evenly.

For slow drying wet-in-wet techniques use only with Atelier Interactive acrylic paints. Can be used with any brand of acrylic paint for increasing fluidity.

Reduce paint viscosity and extend paint whilst maintaining maximum covering power. Add medium to paint with a stirring action until the desired viscosity is reached.

Additions of 50/50 paint and medium produce very fluid even-spreading paint for fine detail. Allow to stand for 5 minutes before using.

For airbrushing techniques mix liquefying medium to artists acrylic, stirring in small amounts until an ink-like consistency is reached. If necessary add water to adjust to suit the airbrush.

Features:

  • Use for extending paint whilst maintaining covering power.
  • Turn your artists acrylics into airbrushing paints.
  • Clean up with mild soap and cool water.
  • Water based and non-toxic.
  • Australian Made and Owned

Atelier Moulding Paste 250ml

Atelier Moulding Paste 250ml

Atelier Moulding Paste 250ml

Atelier moulding paste is a very thick, textural paste used for exaggerated structure. Moulding Paste has the same flexibility as Atelier paints and is used to create strong textural interest at any stage in a painting’s process. Dries white. Can be mixed with paint to produce a coloured ground or painted over once dry.

No need to dilute – use directly from the container. Atelier Modelling Compound can also be used as an economical paint extender: mixed with Atelier Colours, it does not reduce the viscosity of the paint.

Acrylic Painting applications: Generally used as an impasto/texturing material that is painted over when dry. Enables you to build massive, impasto areas in a painting either before commencing to paint or at any stage in the painting process. It has a similar flexibility to paint and does not need medium added when applied to canvas.

May be used as a pigment-less gesso on neutral white surfaces, such as paper. Excellent for roughing up a painting which is becoming too slick. Atelier Modelling Compound provides a good tooth for glazing techniques. For even rougher textural effects, simply add sand, sawdust, etc.

Oil Painting applications: Atelier Modelling Compound can be used for under-texture in oil paintings, but as it is water-based, it must be applied before the oil paint.

Atelier Slow Medium

Atelier Slow Medium

Atelier Slow Medium

Extend the drying time of your acrylic paint with Atelier Slow Medium.

Mix with Atelier Interactive Acrylic Paint to extend the wet-in-wet blending time, increase translucency and improve flow. Paint mixed with Slow Medium will still dry quite quickly but is very easily made reworkable again with a water sprayer or wet brush.

It allows you more time to work on details and blending before drying. Great for painting large areas and glazing techniques. When mixed with acrylic paint and dry to the touch, Atelier Slow Medium will allow the layer to be re-blended. Use to create smooth finishes.

  • Slows the drying process and prevents thinly painted areas from drying too fast
  • Small amounts will produce a smooth, mid viscosity paint.
  • Useful for glazing and other techniques requiring thinner paint and longer working time.
  • Water based, non-toxic.
  • Use only with Atelier Interactive Acrylic Paints
