Sofft Tools were especially made to be used for applying PanPastels Colours. Each tool has a unique shape and size, based on artist’s brushes. They are versatile, re-usable & easy to clean. They can also be used with soft pastel sticks, pencils and most water based mediums.
Panpastels specially formulated micropore sponge holds and releases just the right amount of colour and are:
Reusable – durable enough to work with the highly pigmented colours.
Easy to clean – wipe on a paper towel between colours. Washable in warm soapy water.
Non-Abrasive – for a smooth uniform finish.
Versatile – use with PanPastel and any water-based medium.
(With inks, acrylics etc. there is no brush stroke. Great for glazes.)
Sofft Tools Knives were specifically developed for use with PanPastels allowing for easy application to paint, draw and blend with your pastels. While they were made for use with PanPastels, they can also be used with soft pastel sticks and other water-based art materials.
The Sofft knife applicators have comfortable plastic grip handles with 4 different shaped tips with interchangeable micropore sponge covers. These knife applicators with sponge covers mimic using different brush shapes, functioning like a cross between a brush and a knife. Changing the pressure the line weight can be altered.
Sofft Covers are made with a unique semi-absorbent micropore sponge material. The covers can be washed and re-used multiple times (depending on surface and colour used).
These Sofft knives can also be used without Sofft Covers as traditional painting knives.
The Sofft Knives are made of a flexible, durable plastic, with handles that are shaped like traditional wooden handled knives for maximum comfort.
