Gelli Printing Workshop

Gelli Printing is a method of mono printing that allows you to create pattern and texture which can be used to create interesting backgrounds for your artworks, collage papers, scrap booking or to create artworks in their own right – the possibilities are endless!

If you looking for something different and unique to either add to your creative process or to learn a new art technique, gelli printing is fun and addictive! See how you can combine gelli printing with painting and collage techniques to create exciting pieces.

Play and discover your own expressive visual language through non-representation art, playing with texture and stain glass-like colour.

For the beginner looking for a creative, expressive method that leads them onto a path as an artist, or the more experienced artist looking for that ‘something a bit different’ to expand their repertoire – then this is for you!

This is an introductory workshop on Gelli Plate Printing that runs across a day and will gain you the experience to comfortably explore the process and creative beautiful works!

A relatively new product on the market, Gelli Plates (a gelatin based bad) can be used to achieve effects similar to those found in traditional print making. While it is a monoprint method (not suitable if you wish to have multiples of the same exact image), it’s strength lies in being a quick process that allows you to create a variety of creative images fast!

  • Perfect as a piece of artwork in it’s own right
  • Perfect as a textural element, to collage onto other works on paper.
  • Perfect if you’re looking for a different artistic element to add to a boutique, handmade craft business (e.g. greeting cards)
  • Perfect if you wish to expand your ideas with scrap booking

A day of play, working with texture and stain glass-like colour, allowing you to discover your own expressive visual language, through non representational art.

Due to different sizes the plates come in, our aim is that you have 3 x A4 or 6 x A5 sized finished pieces by the days end.
