Pastel Explorations

Learn how to use your soft pastels in innovative ways!  Create beautiful grounds and mixed media paintings by using your pastels in combination with other media.

Did you know that the powerful strong pigments in soft pastels mix beautiful with acrylic, oils, watercolours and inks! You can also mix these with matt mediums and clear gesso to create beautiful results on canvas ready to hang. You can use pastels to enhance your paintings 

Learn the wonderful ability to enhance your mark making and the fabulous blends you can create with pastels incorporated with other media.

These techniques can enhance landscape, floral and abstract work to produce amazing powerful colours and subtle transitions. During this workshop you will make a fabulous ground and either a landscape, abstract or floral using clear gesso, acrylic and water mixable oils (if desired). This workshop is limited to only 6 students.

This will open up many possibilities for ways to quickly start paintings and explore exciting colour possibilities.

Required Materials:
For this workshop you will need a bottle of clear gesso, some high quality soft pastels (such as Sennelier, Art Spectrum or Holbein). Bring what you have from home and you can purchase anything you need here on the day. We have all materials available to purchase.
