Textural Abstracts in Mixed Media

This 2 day workshop will show you how to create a fabulous impressionistic abstract painting using many layers, drawing inspiration from a landscape scene.

You will learn how to build on a textured foundation using different mediums, pastes and texture tools. Using inks, acrylics, gouache sticks and watercolour crayons you will create layers of colour and luminosity.

You will glaze and veil areas, getting all the tips and tricks to create a very alive painting which makes the viewer return for another look.

The use of most art supplies is provided however you will need to purchase your canvas (we recommend doing this in class when you can select the appropriate size for your reference) and a few select items such as the texture mediums and 3-4 colours of inks (all available in store during class).

Articci will provide use of a number of art materials, but you will be required to purchase a canvas once you select your style and a base kit of the texture medium and 3-4 colours of inks all available in our store during class. You can select these when you decide on the colours and style that you wish to use.
