Winsor & Newton Artisan 75ml Thinner

Winsor and Newton Artisan Water Mixable Oil Thinner allows you to avoid the use of hazardous solvents and still thin your paints. Although water is suitable as a diluent for water mixable oil colours, its fast evaporation can make the oil colour thicken upon the palette quicker than conventional oil colour would when used with turpentine or solvents.

To help with this Winsor and Newton have developed a Thinner to dilute water mixable oil colours. This can be used instead of water or combined with it. It also provides a more oily consistency which is preferred by some painters and it does not form an emulsion with the colours so there is less colour change than there would be when using water. Thinner can be combined with water mixable oils to make your own mediums. To ensure that you avoid over thinning the colour, Thinners should be combined with other water soluble oil mediums for very dilute uses.
