Charcoal powder is a fine powder made from willow charcoal sticks that is ideal for use in large scale artwork, shading and mixing with water or paint.  Powdered charcoal is known for producing deep black hues with a soft velvet finish and is very versatile to use.  Apply with a brush or fingers to paper, card, canvas or any other absorbent surface.

Coates is a family owned business started in 1819 in England,  releasing their willow charcoal in the 1970’s which has been recognised as the best quality willow charcoal in the world, which they produce from willow grown on their plantation.
