Galkyd Lite Oil Painting Medium – Gamblin
Gamblin Galkyd Lite is formulated to thin oil colours and maintain strong flexible paint films. It will leave brush strokes in thicker layers and allow a longer working time (approximately 3hrs). Glazes are slightly less glossy than those made with traditional mediums or Galkyd.
Galkyd Lite is more fluidy and less glossy compared to Galkyd. Thin layers will be touch-dry in 24 to 30 hours.
Galkyd Lite is different from Galkyd because it is formulated to have a lower viscosity. The viscosity of Galkyd Lite is very similar to that of a traditional damar/refined linseed oil/turpentine painting medium.
Gamvar Gloss Varnish – Gamblin
Gamvar Picture Varnish by Gamblin saturates the colours in your painting and gives your work a unified and protective surface. Developed in collaboration with the National Gallery of Art in America, Gamvar goes on water clear, stays water clear and can be easily removed with Gamsol. Gamvar is virtually odourless and ready to brush apply to your painting. Gamvar can be applied to your painting when your painting is thoroughly dry.

Galkyd Lite:
Formulated to thin oil colours and maintain strong flexible paint film with the same viscosity similar to that of a traditional dammar/refined linseed oil/turpentine painting medium. It will leave brush strokes in thick layers and allow a longer working time. Glazes are slightly less glossy using Galkyd Lite.
Neo Megilp:
Is a soft, silky gel that gives body to paint, decrease viscosity and can produce a luminous finish. Free of lead and other toxic materials, Neo Megilp with not cause your paint to yellow or darken.
Refined Linseed Oil:
Refined Linseed Oil is the palest of linseed oils. Use this linseed oil to thin oil colours and increase their brilliance and transparency, increase flow and slow drying times. Use sparingly or mix with an equal amount of Gamsol to create a traditional slow-drying painting medium.
Gamsol:
One of the safest solvents available, Gamsol allows you to thin your oil paints and clean up without the harmful odor of traditional solvents. It evaporates 100% leaving no residue in paint layers and a little goes a long way – stiff oil colours relax immediately when a small amount of Gamsol is added.
Solvent Free Gel:
Made from safflower oil and alkyd resin, Gamblin’s Solvent Free Gel gives colours more glass, flow and transparency, yet holds the shape of brushstrokes. This gel when added to oil colours can slightly speed up the drying time.
Cold Wax Medium:
This medium is made from unbleached beeswax, alkyd resin and odorless mineral spirits and is used to make oil colours thicker and more matte.
