Matisse Light Modelling Paste MM32
Matisse’s Light Modelling Paste is a lightweight quick drying, flexible, fluffy, sculptural impasto. It can be used to build depth and texture in your artworks and has the same qualities as Matisse’s MM2 Impasto Medium, but with a lighter body and finish. Like traditional impasto products, Light Modelling Paste is used to build relief and texture and it can be used on its own or mixed with paint, ink or pigment. It dries in approx 2-6hrs to a matt, white, pourous finish making it perfect to use as a ground for watercolour and ink techniques.
Many artists use texture as means of expression in their paintings. Although MM2 Impasto Medium can be used to increase the body of acrylic paints, modeling compounds are sometimes needed to achieve more highly textured surfaces, as they retain the indentations and peaks made when applied and manipulated. Once dry, you can paint directly over the surface with any acrylic paint, creating a colourful, textured surface.
Paint can also be mixed directly into this product. MM32 allows for free intermixing with Matisse colours in any proportion. There is very little visual colour loss when up to 20% of MM32 Light Modelling Paste is mixed into Matisse colours. It is important to note that the opaque, semi-matt nature of MM32 will, sometimes, visually affect the result of mixtures with a higher proportion of medium to paint. Pastel tones of the original colour or reduced refraction levels may be apparent.
The light modelling paste dries to an off-white opaque finish with a grainy, absorbent surface. This product is particularly good for creating high peaks of varying sizes; it is flexible and does not shrink when it dries.
Light Modelling Paste is a frothy, grainy compound that can be applied with either a firm-bristled brush or palette knife. Although this medium can be applied to all rigid substrates (ie: board, canvas panels, etc), its light texture and flexibility makes it an excellent choice for applying to thick paper as well as canvas and can be used in large quantities without causing the canvas to stretch or sag. It is non-toxic when used as directed.
Comparing Light Modelling Paste and Impasto Medium:

Matisse Transparent Gesso and Pastel Primer MM26
Matisse’s Transparent Gesso is similar to regular Gesso only without pigmentation; therefore, giving a transparent (although not altogether clear) flexible primer for canvas, board or even paper with an excellent tooth for easy paint manipulation. If working on canvas, Matisse MM26 Transparent Gesso will tighten the canvas, making a firmer ground to paint on.
Matisse Transparent Gesso is a permanent, flexible, water based ground with excellent tooth and a transparent matte finish. It is ideal for priming canvases for acrylic and oil paintings.
It can also be used as a pastel primer and mixed with Matisse Background Colours to give a coloured primer with extra tooth. Mix 1 part Matisse Transparent Gesso with 2 parts Matisse Background Colour (up to equal parts), stir well; the resultant mixture will give a brilliant surface on paper, board or canvas with which to accept and hold pastels including oil pastels.

Matisse Final Varnish Gloss Finish MM14
Matisse Hi-Gloss Varnish is a turps based varnish that produces a hard, non-yellowing acrylic gloss finish. It is best used as a final varnish that is quick drying and will increase the depth and intensity of acrylic colours. It is designed to give your painting that final glow.
Strippable, the varnish re-dissolves in mineral turpentine, which has no effect on Matisse acrylic paints: thus a painting may be completely cleaned and re-varnished without affecting the paint. Ideal varnish for use in restoration work (may be used on oil paintings). Also called Retouch Varnish (a retouch varnish can be achieved with the addition of 80% mineral turps).

The MM24 Iridescent Medium is most effective when added to transparent pigments and over dark coloured grounds.
MM24 Iridescent Medium is based on pure iridescent pigment and contains no fillers or titanium dioxide; therefore the resultant mixes of iridescent colours are far more intense and richer in colour. This medium has no fillers in the base meaning that it should not effect the tone of colours when added.
