Sumi Ink is a Traditional Japanese Black Ink used for painting and drawing and is used for traditional Japanese drawings on rice paper.
Sumi-e is a form of Japanese ink painting that developed from the practice of Japanese calligraphy. The name means “black ink” in Japanese, reflecting the traditional idea that colours could be implied using only black ink of various concentrations.
This ink is perfect for creating washes of colour and can be used for calligraphy.
